Rosa Canina / Rosa Rubiginosa (Rosehip) Oil
Rosehip oil is extracted from the hip of the rose, and contains an abundance of nutrients. It is a natural source of vitamin E, an anti-inflammatory anti-oxidant that calms and hydrates dry and sensitive skin. Vitamin E also helps protect skin cells from sun damage. Rosehip oil is a natural source of essential fatty acids omega 3, 6 and 9, which help repair and regenerate damaged skin tissue. Rosehip oil is also a natural source of vitamin C, a skin-brightening, anti-ageing antioxidant that helps improve the appearance of pigmentation and restore skin tone. It also helps protect skin from the sun. Rosehip oil is also a natural source of the powerful antioxidants lycopene, which helps improve skin texture and offers protection against premature ageing, and beta-carotene, which helps prevent free-radical damage responsible for skin ageing.
Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil
Argan oil is known as a super agent for skincare, due to its high levels of antioxidants, essential fatty acids and natural vitamin E. Because this natural oil is said to contain three times more anti-ageing vitamin E than any other natural oil, it is often used in skin care products for its restorative and anti-ageing benefits. Argan oil softens and soothes, decreasing wrinkles and stretch marks.
Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Seed Extract
Punica Granatum, also known as Pomegranate, has long been touted for its high levels of vitamin C and antioxidants, which can help prevent cell damage. Several studies have shown its ability to accelerate wound healing, as well as playing a positive role in the repair of sun-damaged and ageing skin. Pomegranate extracts exert their positive effects by extending the life of fibroblasts, the cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin, the components that give strength and support to the skin.
Citrus Tangerina (Tangerine) Oil
Tangerine essential oil helps maintain oil and moisture balance in the skin, and has also astringent and emollient properties. Tangerine essential oil contains anti-fungal and antiseptic properties. For this reason, tangerine essential oil can be helpful in preventing and treating acne or skin infections.
Cymbopogon Martinii (Palmarose) Oil
Palmarose Essential oil has a moisturizing and hydrating effect on the skin, which is great to fight wrinkles. It also balances the natural secretion of sebum, which keeps the skin supple and elastic. On a cellular level, it helps with the formation of new tissue, and for that reason is great for rejuvenating and regenerating the skin. It is most useful when fighting dry skin and to resolve skin infections. Palmarose oil calms the mind, yet has an uplifting effect, whilst clearing muddled thinking. It is used to counter physical and nervous exhaustion, stress-related problems and nervousness.
Boswellia Serrata (Frankincense) Oil
Frankincense oil can be added to a base cream or lotion to help with general skin tone and condition, whilst reducing oily skin, rejuvenating more mature skin, and helping wounds, ulcers and sores to heal better. Frankincense oil soothes and calms the mind, slowing down and deepening breathing, and is excellent for use when meditating. It also helps to calm anxiety and obsessive thinking linked to the past.
